Global & Project Billing Rates

Overview

MetaField offers simplified billing rates to help your firm:

• Standardize pricing across all services
• Maintain competitive and premium pricing
• Automate billing calculations to save time and reduce errors
• Easily set billing rates for individual projects

How to Access Billing Rates

Use the left nav to select Bill. This will take you to the Bill module, where you can access Global Billing Rates or Project-Specific Billing Rates.

Required Permissions

Access to the Bill module is controlled through role-based permissions. Your MetaField Administrator can grant access to the module by enabling any (or all) Bill permissions for your role. Here's a quick overview of each permission controls:

• Invoices: Enables role to create and manage invoices in the Bill module. (This is a paid, premium feature.)
• Global Rate Card: Enables role to view and adjust Global Billing Rates.
• Project Rate Card: Enables role to access and edit billing rates for individual projects.

These settings help control which roles can access what functionality. For example, your firm may want to limit Project Managers to Project Rate Cards, while giving all permissions to your finance specialist.

Global Billing Rates

This page will show you a grid of global billing rates. From here, you can perform the following actions:

• Search or Filter: Click the Search or Filter bar to search for a specific rate - or filter by Cost Type, Form, Work Item, Unit, etc.
• Modify Existing Rates: Click Open under the Actions column to open and adjust an existing rate.
• Add New Global Rates: Click + Add Rate to create a new rate, and assign which Forms and Work Items to associate with it.
• Bulk Upload .CSV File: Click Bulk Upload to upload a .CSV file of rates to the global list.
• Edit Settings: Click Settings to Add, Edit, or Delete Cost Types and Units in the system. You can also adjust the Status of Cost Types and Units here. Active items can be selected when creating a rate.

Note: Cost Types and Units can only be deleted if not in use by an existing rate.

Project Billing Rates

This page will show you a grid of project-specific rates. Any new rates added here will override the global rates for this project. This page also allows you to:

• Search or Filter: Click the Search or Filter bar to search for a specific rate - or filter by Cost Type, Form, Work Item, Unit, etc.
• Add Rate to Project: Click + Add Rate to create a new rate for this specific project.
• Bulk Upload CSV File: Click Bulk Upload to upload a .CSV file of rates to the project.
• Copy Global Rates: Click Copy Global Rates to populate the grid with existing global rates - and adjust them to suit this project.
• Modify Existing Rates: Click Open under the Actions column to open and adjust an existing project rate.
